Why We Do What We Do—Lighthouse Christian Products Co.

In 2007, Lighthouse Christian Products Company celebrates 10 years of providing quality encouraging gift products to the Christian market and serving with our ministry partners to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

From the beginning until today, a desire to encourage fellow Christians with the Word of God fuels every business decision. Since our business is also a ministry, we hold ourselves and our employees to a higher level of accountability and integrity. Christian values are a way of life for us as we deal with our employees and business partners.

We believe that placing God’s Word on carefully designed products strengthens the faith of other believers and plants a seed in people who may be far from God. It also reminds people of God’s presence and love. We design all of our products with encouraging verses that people can give as gifts, and that reflect the love and grace of God. Our success in the marketplace testifies to the hunger for God’s Word. Christians are looking for Scripture-based products that are well designed, high-quality and value-priced.

OUR MINISTRY PARTNERS

One of the reasons Lighthouse is in business is to partner with various ministries around the world. A heart for ministry beats in our company and undergirds everything we do. We want to support these Christian ministries and enable them to carry out their mission as effectively as possible. The ministries that we’ve built partnerships with include Willow Creek Community Church, God 4 Me, Glory Crown-Elim (Hong Kong), New Day Foster Home, AWANA, CSB Ministries, Medinah Baptist Church and The Point Church.

At Christmas, Lighthouse donates product to the staff and volunteers of Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois, to encourage and build them up. Tammy Kelley, Director of People Resources, says, “Each time they receive the gifts, our staff and volunteers are encouraged to know that their efforts to serve the kingdom have been recognized.”

Mike Zachman, senior pastor of The Point Church in Arlington, Washington, also serves as the company pastor for Lighthouse. He says, “I see Lighthouse as just that—a light in a dark world that points people to safety and to God’s Word. That is a ministry. People are reading God’s Word.”

In 2006, Medinah Baptist Church in Medinah, Illinois, celebrated its 50th anniversary, Lighthouse donated Scripture cards for this milestone. The church gave packets of cards to their members to use as weekly reminders of God’s love and, then, used a card a week as a tie-in to the sermon. Rob Bohnenstengel, Pastor of Adult Ministries/Christian Education, said, “I am amazed how God worked through this because usually the cards were a match to the sermon.”

Lighthouse partnered with Awana to produce a series of children’s books entitled “Solomon and Friends.” Awana is translating these books into Chinese. Their ministry partners will distribute them to Chinese children to help teach them about character. Keith Wiederwax, Director of Emerging International Ministry says, “Lighthouse Christian Products Co. allowed Awana to bring products to Christian retail outlets for the first time. It’s been great to work with a company that cares so much about the quality of their products and takes their Christian testimony to their customers, suppliers and partners seriously.”

In addition, Lighthouse has built a relationship with the New Day Foster Home in China. Working with New Day Creations, a fund-raising arm of the foster home, Lighthouse has produced a line of sculptures. A portion of the profits will be donated to New Day Foster Home to enable them to provide much-needed healthcare and surgeries for the children in their care. After New Day takes care of their health needs, they make them available for adoption.

Many of our products are manufactured in Asia. Lighthouse supports a Hong Kong-based ministry and retail group known as Glory Crown Enterprises by donating products for new store grand openings in Hong Kong. This group also does ministry work in China.

Lighthouse has a very special relationship with the God4Me Men’s Network Group, which is a men’s discipleship ministry. Scott Caesar, president of God4Me, says, “The only thing that outweighs the quality of the Lighthouse products is their heart for ministry. We have been able to bless pastors and Christian workers all over the world with gifts carrying God’s Word because of Lighthouse’s generous way.”

We appreciate all our ministry partners and hope to join in ministry with many others in the future. This is why we do what we do.
